Bayou Bend Room Tour MFAH Bayou Bend

Murphy RoomBayou Bend was designed as a private residence for Miss Ima Hogg and her brothers in the late 1920s. In 1957, Miss Hogg donated Bayou Bend to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Over the next ten years, rooms that once served her personal needs were transformed into period settings to showcase her superb collection. The house museum opened to the public in 1966.
