Patriots, Rebels, and the Texian Campaign
Re-enactment groups demonstrate camp life, military tactics, and weaponry of soldiers from the American Revolution, Civil War, and Texian Campaign. View presentations, and participate in activities exploring the lives of colonists while they battled for independence and freedom. Additionally, children can march to the beat of a Revolutionary drum, experiencing, first-hand, continental army life.

Sunday, October 15

A Leisurely Life
Join us for an afternoon of early American leisure-time pursuits--sewing, reading, gaming, and playing music. View fabulous objects in Bayou Bend's collection that were made for this leisure time. Participate in a variety of activities, from craft workshops to interactive "living history" presentations.

Sunday, November 19

Diverse Nations
Trade, archaeological excavation, immigration, and even a marriage dowry have enabled the arts of Europe, Asia, and Classical Antiquity to influence "typical" American furniture. Visit this Bayou Bend Family Day for a multicultural celebration. View objects in the collection that reveal the strong influences from around the world. Participate in activities and experience this international extravaganza.

Sunday, December 17

Yuletide at Bayou Bend
Celebrate the holiday season by joining Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens for an afternoon concert. Guests may tour Miss Ima Hogg's historic home while it is decorated in Yuletide splendor and discover how early Americans celebrated the holiday season. View eight rooms on the first floor, decorated to reflect important celebrations including Christmas, Hanukkah, a Mississippi antebellum wedding, and more. Children can create an ornament and participate in other activities that capture the holiday spirit.
