  DIRECTIONAL SOURCES are finding aids that guide the researcher to other more specialized sources. These include catalogs, bibliographies, and indexes and abstracts.
    CATALOGS are lists of materials held by a library or other entity.
Examples
    BIBILIOGRAPHIES are annotated lists of selected reference sources and literature on a subject.
Examples
    INDEXES and ABSTRACTS are similar to bibliographies. They list the bibliographic citations of books and articles on a particular subject. They may be general or subject-specific.
